Responsibilities:
Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures- Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays) Ask about the patient's medical history and take blood pressure and pulse Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures Educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health Perform various office tasks as necessary
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required Completion of an accredited dental assisting program TSBDE state required RDA certification or licensure Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and diagnosis codes (CDT) Experience with Dentrix dental software Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus
